About My Movie Theater Life

I began my job at the movies in 2015, almost immediately after getting my license. My mother told me that in order to keep driving the car my parents provided me with, I must have a job. After searching high and low, I found Cinemark. They hired me quickly because Star Wars was rapidly approaching. I had been hired under the pretense that this was only a temporary position and that if I did well, I would be hired for real. After the intense few weeks of Star Wars, I got a call asking if I would like to continue to work at Cinemark. I said, "Of course!" I loved my job and found the people and the enviroment fun overall.

Almost 3.5 years later, I have learned so much and met so many people. I've thought about quitting many times, and actually came close a few times. However, the people kept me there. I am greatful for the time I have spent there because it taught me how to succeed as an employee. Hard work truly pays off. I have gained respect from my peers and managers.

I now am considered a seasonal employee because I am five hours away and cannot work every week. However, I work during breaks and boy, do I work a lot. During winter break, I worked 210 hours and over spring break I worked 108 hours. I know, I don't understand how I do it either.
